Bengaluru, Aug 19: Sakala, primary and secondary education minister, B C Nagesh, said that preparations have been made for opening physical classes pertaining to ninth and tenth standards in the state from August 23. He was speaking after presiding over a meeting of senior officials of the department in the office of the state commissioner of public instruction here on Wednesday August 18 on the issue in which block education officers participated through video conference facility.
He stressed that maintaining hygiene within the school premises is very important. He said that the headmasters and teachers of respective schools are responsible for ensuring cleanliness inside the toilets, school compound, rooms and other places.
He advised block education officers to visit at least 50 percent of the schools within their jurisdictions to make sure that the schools are following safety norms scrupulously. He asked the officials to utilise the rooms meant for the staff if there is any shortage of space to make sure that reopening of schools becomes a successful affair.
The minister pointed out that the response the department gets from the reopening of PU colleges and secondary schools will help in starting physical classes for first to eighth standards. He asked the officials to collect information about the covid19 situation in all villages, towns, taluks and cities in the state with age-wise breakup so that proper preparations and precautionary measures can be undertaken before opening first to eighth standards in physical form.
