It all begins with an idea , then detailing, forming a team and recognising those who believe in the journey of toastmasters.

It not just about one person. It's a piece how simple objective of rebranding, nurturing a company ( in this case Dunes toastmasters club)can be handled with proper blend of speakers, creative invites, clear message on" what is in in for me " to all attendees and at the end leaving them motivated with a sense of learning and achieved something, to carry back home.

The programme was it itself a learning of simple event management, programme scheduling and feeling of warmth and belongingness, how emotions can flow and motivate you to be a better person.

An event to show how motivation works and people management, in true leadership styles work wonders. It's not about money, it not about richness, fame or glory, its a soft, simple way to say thank you to those to have silently, unknownly strived selflessness to make your lives better.

Is it a chapter from MBA, or a college degree from a B school.

Wwe call it the powerful leadership skills in Toastmasters.

What an electrifying evening. Before the start of the event evrybody was waiting for event to start with high expectations. There were around 80 guests mingling together. Most of them did not know each other but they made so many friends during this one evening.
The event started with a difference and individuals were recognised first for their selfless service.
During surprise birthday celebration of Mr. Vijay Manikoth, he was taken by complete surprise and became emotional.
All the Leaders gave superb speeches and it clearly showed how toastmasters help individuals in becoming better speaker and leader.
Throughout the event energy level of speakers was high and energy level of audience was very high.
In Toastmasters meetings usually no clapping is allowed during the speach but this being an event for non Toastmasters the clapping for speakers during the speach was quite freequent.
All in all this was an event not to be missed. Those who missed due to any prior appointments should watch the video.
To get a free copy of CD/DVD of the event one can contact club president Mr. Anup Hegde at 050 5525146

What an amazing night we have had, unbelievable, and unimaginable and something that all of us at DUNES can be proud of. For those that missed the function all I can say is you have missed a Golden Opportunity, an opportunity where you could have basked in Glory. We had a full house, with the guests outnumbering the Toastmasters,(which ofcourse was our Target) and most of them wanting to come and join DUNES Toastmaster Club,Dubai.

80 odd people, most of them guests, enter the room at 7pm. At 11pm when the program finished we had the same 80 odd people trying to know “how can I join Dunes”. That was the kind of energy that was created by the program.energy that was created by the program. We did not have people who were rushing out to their car because it was 11….but people who were keen to know more, learn more and to see if they can be a part of the movement called toastmasters.

I thank on behalf of Dunes the sponsor Global Spark group who understood the reason behind the seminar and supported us.With different speakers taking us through their definition of Leadership, it was an experience that I will remember more as a viewer than a person who was a part of it as an organizer.

Hey but that was not the end of the leadership I saw yesterday. I saw within Dunes the leaders who made it happen. Gurupreet who was handling the set up. Sharline who was managing guests. Anup, Navendu, Anand, Arafat and Shabeer handling their part of the activities. Gino as usual silently smiling in the corner, someone whom I consider the “Wall” of Dunes, a great person and leader.

And then I had LOY…… sheer energy, exuberance and will to thinking about it….and making it happen.I am NOT going to Thank Loy for what he has done yesterday for Dunes…because he is one among US. But certainly I want to thank him for showing me that a horizon is not necessarily the end game. There could be things that can go beyond the horizon.
