Mangaluru, Jun 9: Each Angel of Carmel Family experienced warmth of welcome as they were ushered inside by the Teachers and the joy of the students was enhanced by the Morning Assembly conducted on June 4.
The programme commenced with a unique prayer service, the symbolic representation of how the teachers mentor the students to succeed in life through soil, water, seeds, flowers, fruit and plants followed by welcome dance by students of Grade 9B — magnificent performance out to create rhythmic thrills of sheer excellence. The newly appointed administrator, teachers and students were introduced and welcomed by the principal and teachers with a rose.
Sonia Monteiro enlightened the audience about the theme of the World Environment Day 2022 and said, “Nature comprising of Forest, Water, climate, land, soil, air is sending mankind a message, specifically that mankind is on the verge of a breakdown. It is time to wake up. It is time to take notice. It is time to reformulate man’s relationship with Nature. It is time to restore equilibrium between man and Nature. With this fact in mind the UNO uses World Environment Day as a special occasion to promote awareness with the theme 'Only One Earth ‘for the year 2022'.
Carmel family then witnessed stupendous inaugural of Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature by Sr Sarika the principal, Sr Violette - administrator, Sr Preena - vice principal and Sr Shanthi Laveena - coordinator.
World Environment Day was then celebrated by the students of class IX B.
The programme was made colourful by the addition of songs and dances which emphasized the beauty of nature. A dance drama was showcased on the need of protecting the environment. Sr Sarika, the principal, in her thought provoking address underlined the ten critical elements of one‘s personality that enhance the likeability factor - A Positive Attitude, Respect, Extend Help, Appreciate others, Work on Limitations, Keep Promises, Radiate Energy, Stand for certain principles, Focus on Action and Enjoy Quiet Time.
Sr M Violette, the administrator appreciated the principal, students and the faculty for the meaningful and fabulous programme.
The programme was compered by teacher Akshatha and Hiba of Class 9 B. The programme ended with singing of the national anthem followed by distribution of sweets.
