Mangaluru, Aug 15: St Ann’s Teacher Training Institute celebrated 75th Platinum Jubilee of India’s Independence Day here at the campus. Dr Aloysius Sequeira, former professor (HAG) dean, & registrar- NITK, Surathkal, the chief guest hoisted the National Flag and spoke of the great milestone India has achieved in various fields during the past 75 years of its freedom.
He spoke on the significance of the tricolour and its applications for present scenario. Recalling the sacrifices of great leaders like Mahatma Gandhiji, Jawaharlal Nehru and B R Ambedkar who sacrificed their yesterdays to have today’s freedom, he invited everyone to have that spirit of patriotism and solidarity for the nation.
Sr M.Shamita AC, provincial superior of Karnataka Province, presided over the programme. Sr Maria Sudeepa AC, secretary, Apostolic Carmel Educational Society, Sr Marie Lucy AC the joint secretary St Ann’s Campus Institutions were present for the programme.
Heads of the Campus Institutions, staff and students too were present. Sr Pramila AC the principal welcomed the gathering while Rashmi gave the significance of the day. Rakshitha proposed the vote of thanks and Kanika and Chirashree compered the programme.
