ICYM of Mangalore diocese celebrates National Youth Sunday

Mangaluru, Aug 24: The National Youth Sunday celebrated on August 14 across India. The theme for the National youth Sunday was 'Mary rose up and went with haste' (Lk 1:39). The National youth Sunday was celebrated on different levels from parish to national.

Youth of ICYM diocese of Mangalore celebrated National Youth Sunday on August 14 in unique ways to show their unity and faith in the Almighty by celebrating Holy Eucharistic celebration, clean-up initiatives, sharing joy among youth, visiting elderly and sick people of the parish and also conducted various programmes to mark this auspicious occasion.

On August 15, executive members of ICYM Mangalore Diocese visited the Oncology ward of Fr Muller Hopital Kankanady. ICYM Mangalore Diocese director Fr Ashwin Cardoza, president Anil Sequeira, secretary Nishal Preemal Dsouza and other executive members were also present during the visit.

A unique programme was conducted by the youth of Our Lady of Perpetual Succor Church, Gantalkatte in collaboration with YCS. They enacted the Street play 'Konkani Mozho Fudaar' and also to commemorate Konkanni Manyatha Diwas which will be celebrated on August 20. It was written by Arun Raj, directed by Fr Ronald Prakash D'Souza and enacted by members of ICYM and YCS members.

Directors, animators, and parishioners encouraged the youth to organize all these programmes successfully.
