Mumbai: Akhila Karnataka Jain Sangh Celebrates Mahaveer Jayanti in Metro

Mumbai, Apr 17: Akhila Karnataka Jain Sangh celebrated Bhagwan Mahaveer Jayanti at the auditorium of Pejavar Mutt, Prabhat Nagar, Santacruz (East) here on Saturday April 16.

Various religious celebrations including devotional singing were held by the priests.

Akhila Karnataka Jain Sangh president B Muniraj Jain presided over the simple function held as part of Mahaveer Jayanti.

Yashwantbai Mehta was the chief guest on the occasion. 



Yashwantbai said that Swami Mahaveer propagated non-violence, sacrifice and peace to the mankind, in order to attain eternal bliss.

Muniraj Jain urged the community to pass on the virtues of Bhagwan Mahaveer to the next generation, in order to lead meaningful life, as Bhagwan Mahaveer shunned worldly pleasures in order to embrace life of penance and sacrifice to achieve eternal bliss.

The sangh secretary Nemiraj Adhikari, treasurer P Anantaraj Jain, joint secretary Vardhaman Jain and joint treasurer Sampat Kumar Jain were present on the dais.

The sangh former president Adiraj Jain, Loknath Jain, Jaya A Jain, Ajit Kumar Jain, Prafulla M Jain, Padmavati J Jain, Veena P Jain, Kanchana Uday Adikari and Champalata Vinod Gala among the veterans of community were also present.

Joint secretary Pavananjaya Ballal compered the programme.  Vardhaman Jain introduced the guests. Sanat Kumar Jain proposed the vote of thanks.
