Ajekar / Karkala, Jun 30: The students’ literary union of Jyothi Pre-University College, Ajekar, near here, was inaugurated on Tuesday June 29. Jyothi High School, which was established nearly five decades ago, has been upgraded to a pre-university college from this academic year and it was the first literary union of the I PUC students.
Dr T M Satyanarayan, principal, Hebri First Grade College, inaugurated the union on Tuesday afternoon.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Satyanarayan commended the setting up of the students’ literary union in the first year of the newly-established Jyothi Pre-University College. He also stressed that the students’ literary union is a good start for the students to explore their literary talent.
Senior columnist Sadanand Naravi released students’ bulletin ‘Amratavani’, on the same occasion. He said that students who explore their literary and cultural talent can effectively face the challenges of life.
Sr Sadhana, principal, Jyothi Pre-University College, presided over the programme. She said that the college authorities are striving to provide all possible facilities.
Entrepreneur Prakash D’Souza was present on the dais.
Senior lecturer Suresh Marinapur welcomed the gathering. Vivin Manohar Soans proposed the vote of thanks and students’ union leader Ramesh Kurpady compered the programme.
