Udupi: MLA Raghupati Bhat welcomes renaming of Tipu Express train

Udupi, Oct 8: MLA Raghupati Bhat has welcomed the Centre's decision to rename the popular Tipu Superfast Express to Wodeyar Express that connects Bengaluru and Mysuru cities as Wodeyar's contribution to the state is unparalleled.

In a reference to the 'Salaam' salutation, the MLA said it is better to say 'Namaste' instead of 'Salaam' as it made no difference.

On celebrating the Madhwa Jayanthi, Raghupati Bhat said Madhwacharya is one of the three great philosophers-saints who was born in Karnataka. He called upon the government to ideally take up the celebration of Madhwa Jayanthi. He expressed confidence that from at least next year the government will come forward to celebrate Madhwa Jayanthi as it would be an act of reverence to the great philosopher of the state.
