Udupi: Bus passenger critically injured while alighting from bus dies

Udupi, Oct 11: A passenger travelling in a bus who was critically injured while alighting from the bus succumbed to his injuries at Wenlock hospital, Mangaluru.

The deceased is identified as Manjay Kumar (19), a resident of Jharkhand.

The private bus was heading from Udupi to Moodubelle on October 9. Manjay was trying to alight from the bus at Rampura Durgaparameshwari temple tower, Alevoor. However, the bus driver drove the bus further even though the conductor did not give any signal to the driver to move. Manjay who was trying to alight, fell from the bus and was seriously injured.

Jalesh Shetty, a resident of Alevoor and other locals rushed Manjay to Ajjarkad hospital. He was later shifted to Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru, where he succumbed to his injuries.

A case in this connection is registered at Manipal police station under crime No. 187/2022 section 279, 304(A) IPC.
