Beltangady: Dr Heggade to Receive ‘Karnataka Ratna’ on May 11

Beltangady, May 7: A function to confer ‘Karnataka Ratna’ title on Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, is being held at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bangalore on May 11. The title pertains to the year 2009.

‘Karnataka Ratna’ titles will be conferred on Dr De Javare Gowda for 2008, and Dr Veerendra Heggade for 2009, on this occasion.

These titles will be conferred by state Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa. Kannada and culture minister, Govind Karjol, home minister, R Ashok, and MP, Anant Kumar, will participate as chief guests. MLA, Dr D Hemachandra Sagar, will preside over the programme.

On the occasion, a programme of Kannada songs will be presented by K S Surekha and troupe.
