Puttur, May 10: Shivakumar (26), son of Neelappa Gowda, a resident of Ambekallu in Kollamogra village near Kadaba, died in an accident that occurred on Monday May 9 at Venkatapura near Kaikamba in Bilinele village.
Shivakumar, working as a collection agent for the daily deposit scheme of Animal Husbandry Society in Subrahmanya, was moving towards Kaikamba from Subrahmanya on some work, when a car which was moving on the wrong side of the road hit him, eyewitnesses said. The car was going to Subrahmanya from Udupi.
Shivakumar, who was seriously injured in the accident, breathed his last while being taken to Kadaba community hospital. He has left behind his parents and a brother. It is learnt that the locals, angered by the incident, attacked the car and damaged it.
Kadaba police have registered a case, and undertaken investigation.
