Mangaluru, Nov 11: “The final voters’ list will be released on January 1, 2023. Voters can make the necessary corrections in the voters’ list from November 9 to December 8. They can make their corrections and also delete names from the voters’ list,” said deputy commissioner (DC) Ravi Kumar M R.

Addressing media here on Friday November 11, the DC said, “The draft voters’ list was released on November 9. Special enrolment campaign will be held in this connection on November 12 and 20 and December 3 and 4. Everybody should see the draft list and make sure that their names are included. Those who have completed 18 years can submit their application along with any documents on January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1. The voter IDs will be sent by speed post.

“There are 1,860 polling stations as of November 9 compared to last year’s 1,861. One polling station in Mangaluru north constituency has been merged with another polling station. There are 17,08,955 voters in eight constituencies in the district, with Mangaluru city north being the highest with 3,36,975 voters. Over 4,500 voters’ names have been excluded from the voters’ list due to their demise, change of address and many other reasons,” said Ravi Kumar.

On Surathkal toll gate notification, he said, “For any notification from the government, it takes time or it might come soon. In the toll gate issue, the notification process is on from the government’s part and it may come anytime soon.”
