Puttur, Nov 13: Traffic on NH 75 got disrupted for nearly three hours on the night of Saturday as a truck carrying iron rods overturned at Hosamajalu under Kaukradi village limits near Uppinangady in the taluk.
The truck was carrying the iron rods from Bengaluru to Mangaluru. As it overturned and fell across the road, traffic got blocked on both sides. Police have made alternative arrangements for vehicles to travel via Nelyadi-Putye-Kokkada-Periyashanti route.
Police reported at the sight of the mishap immediately and with the help of crane moved the truck to road side. This operation took three house. After that the highway was opened once again for traffic.
The truck driver is injured in the accident and is admitted to hospital.
