Mangalore: Former Mayor’s Son Arrested for Assault

Mangalore, May 18: Satish Munchoor, son of former city mayor, Rajani Dugganna, and four others were arrested by Suratkal police on Tuesday May 17 for allegedly assaulting an entrepreneur. It is said that the assault was carried out relating to a grouse Satish was nursing against the concerned.

Bhagawan (30), son of Ravindranath, residing in ninth block of Katipalla near Suratkal, who is a civil contractor by profession, was assaulted by a gang. It is said that Ganesh, Lokesh, Santosh, Anil and others intercepted the car in which Bhagawan was moving on Tuesday morning near Munchoor. The gangsters then reportedly used abusive language against Bhagawan before assaulting him.

In a complaint filed with the police, Bhagawan said that the assaulters had been incited by Satish, who has been nursing a grouse against the former. The policemen, after receiving the complaint, swung into action and arrested the accused.
