Beltangady: Boy Loses Life in Bus-Bike Collision

Beltangady, May 21: After a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus bound for Dharmasthala from Mangalore hit a motor bike that was being driven from Guruvayanakere to Pandavarakallu at a bend between Pilichamundikallu and Maddadka in the taluk on Friday May 20, a teenager lost his life. Tausif (15), son of P B Abubakker from Sunnaladadda House in Gerukatte Kaliya village, who was travelling in the pillion, succumbed to injuries suffered in the accident. Rafiq from Pandavarakallu, who was riding the motor bike, was admitted into a private hospital in Guruvayanakere with severe injuries.

Tausif was the younger brother of Rafiq’s wife. Rafiq, who was on a visit to the house of his in-laws, was going to Pandavarakallu with his brother-in-law. During the collision, the bike rider lost control over the motor bike, as a result of which the pillion rider was tossed on to the road. Tausif lost his life instantly.

Abubakker works as a car driver, while Tausif was pursuing religious studies. Tausif was to attend school on Friday afternoon after weekly off.

On a complaint filed by an eyewitness to the accident, a case was filed in Beltangady police station in this respect.
