Mangalore, May 21: The mystery behind the murder of Sandhivelu, a native of Tamil Nadu and staying near Kottara Chowki here, has been solved by the police personnel of Barke station. Manish Kumar (23), residing near Bhagawati Temple on Mannagudda Main Road in the city, has been arrested and named as the accused in the case.

Sandhivelu’s body had been found lying near Inland Enclave apartments in Mannagudda on May 17. A local resident named Venkatesh had informed the Barke police station about the incident. The policemen had found that the skull of Sandhivelu had been apparently smashed with a heavy boulder.

The accused was arrested by a team led by inspector Vinay A Gaonkar, under the guidance of Ravindra K Gadadi, assistant commissioner. It is said that the accused was angry at the fact that Sandhivelu, who was to repay Rs 4,000 borrowed by him to the accused, had failed to repay the amount, and had been trying to escape from meeting Kumar since the last several days.
