Udupi, May 22: In an incident reported from K G Road, Salmara near Uppoor here on Saturday May 21, an engineering graduate committed suicide coming under running train.
The deceased has been identified as Iba Noronha (25), daughter of S Noronha, principal, SMS Pre-university College, Brahmavar. The girl, who was depressed from past five years, set out on Saturday from her residence in Bhadragiri, Brahmaver and laid her life on the tracks near Uppoor under Mumbai-Mangalore train.
An alumni of SMS PU College, she graduated in engineering college at Moodlukatte. It was only recently that she joined a private company in Manipal. It is suspected that she committed suicide dejected in life.
A case has been registered at the Brahmavar police station. Her eyes have been donated as per the wishes of her parents.
