Over 230,000 Foreigners Worked in China in 2010


Beijing, May 24 (IANS): Around 231,700 foreigners worked in China by the end of 2010, compared to 223,000 in the previous year, according to data released by the ministry of human resources and social security.

Nationwide, 11.68 million jobs were created in 2010 and 5.47 million previously laid-off workers successfully found jobs again, Xinhua reported.

The number of people from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan who worked on the Chinese mainland reached 89,800 by the end of 2010, slightly rising from 86,000 in 2009.
