Bangalore, May 25: Karnataka criminal investigation department (CID), in a report filed with the state high court on Tuesday May 24 has recommended filing of criminal cases against candidates who furnished fake documents, and certain officials of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), relating to gross irregularities. This recommendation was made to the government, as CID has found merit in the allegations that irregularities had been committed in conducting examinations and selecting candidates for the post of gazetted probationers by KPSC in 1998, 1999, and 2004.

In its report, CID said that KPSC had thrown the rules to the winds in appointing candidates like Asha Parvin, Pushpa, Archana, Salma Firdous etc to the Karnataka Administrative Service cadre. The report also cites cases in which fake caste certificates were furnished by some candidates.

The then chairman of KPSC, Dr Krishna, also has been accused of malpractices by CID. A candidate named Allabaksh, who obtained first rank in 2 b category in the said examination, had alleged that he was told by the KPSC chairman even before the examination was held, that he would not be selected. The candidate also has alleged that he was forced to sign a declaration that he had not furnished proper documents to KPSC.

The report also has borught to the fore cases of fake documents among others.
