Cricketer Murali Kartik to Feature in Next PETA Ad

Mumbai, May 25 (PTI) Cricketer Murali Kartik is set to feature in a brand-new ad campaign for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India.

In the ad, Murali will pose with a baby chicken, next to the caption, "Vegetarians Make Chicks Happy".

"Being vegetarian is a winning formula for me as an athlete", says Kartik.

"A vegetarian diet provides athletes with all the protein, complex carbohydrates and other nutrients we need to get stronger and faster ? without the artery-clogging cholesterol and saturated fats found in meat. So I say, join the vegetarian team, and do yourself, the animals and the planet a whole lot of good."

Kartik joins former cricket captain Anil Kumble, actors R Madhavan, Pamela Anderson, Shahid Kapoor and musician Sir Paul McCartney, who have teamed up with PETA India and its international affiliates to promote a vegetarian lifestyle.
