Kundapur: Woman Dies in Accident

Kundapur, May 26: A woman, who sustained serious injuries after a Maruti Omni van hit her when she was walking near Arehole Cross near Navunda bus stand in the taluk on Tuesday May 24, died later in a hospital. She has been identified as Mamata, a resident of Guddimane in Kirimanjeshwar village.

Mamata and her sister, Mallika, were walking towards Arehole from Kirimanjeshwar, when the van hit them. Both of them were injured. Mamata, whose injuries were of serious nature, died later at Manipal Hospital, in spite of efforts made by doctors to save here.

Mallika continues to be treated at the hospital. A case was registered in Byndoor police station in this respect.
