Attempt to Weaken Labour Laws is Bad: Kharge

Ahmedabad, Jun 4 (PTI) Union Labour Minister Malliakarjun Kharge today said there is a trend in some states to weaken labour laws or to ignore them which is "bad for the those states and the country."

Without naming any state, Kharge said, "When some state governments are giving a thrust on liberalisation and globalisation, trend is that there is an attempt to weaken labour laws or ignore them."

"These types of policies of the state governments would be bad for these states, the country as well as for the labourers. One should keep in mind that due to skilled labour, industries are able to produce goods," Kharge said.

Kharge was here to inaugurate a renovated 300 bed state of the art ESIC model hospital in Bapunagar area of the city.
