M'lore: Mobile Squad to Tackle Illegal Sand Transportation Formed

Mangalore, Jun 4: Deputy commissioner has ordered constitution of mobile squad to inspect vehicles carrying sand in the wake of rising illegal sand transporation.

The squad will check the vehicles round the clock, states a press release. The exercise will be consucted at least once in two days.

The squad will comprise police, tahsildar and village accountant led by an officer in-charge. The report will be submitted on seizure of vehicles to mines and geology department, Bantwal and Mangalore tahsildar apart from the nearest police station where the seizure was made.
