Bantwal: One Dead, Six Injured in Bus-jeep Collision on NH 48

Bantwal, Jun 4: One person died and six were injured in a ghastly accident between a KSRTC bus and a jeep at Dasakodi – Kudrebettu, near Kalladka on NH 48 here on Friday June 3.

The deceased has been identified as 62-year-old P S Abdulla, a resident of Nellyady. The injured are Abdulla’s wife Avvamma, their daughter Sameema, son-in-law Badruddin, his mother Bifatumma, granddaughter Shaba and Mariamma.

 

The injured are undergoing treatment in private hospitals in Mangalore.

Abdulla was driving the jeep to Ullal in Mangalore. He picked up Badruddin and his mother on the way. A KSRTC bus hit the vehicle at Kudrebettu, near here.

Locals tried to remove Abdulla's body from the vehicle. The jeep was completely destroyed in the mishap.

Traffic on NH 48 was hindered for nearly an hour and later restored by highway patrol police.

Bantwal town police inspector Vivekanand registered a case in this regard.
