Mangaluru, Mar 4: After a gap of 12 years, the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) is set to distribute housing sites developed in layout in Kunjathbail. MUDA chairman Ravishankar Mijar made the announcement to the media after launching a new logo for MUDA at the meeting hall on March 4.
"The housing layout has been developed on 17.49 acres of land in Kunjathbail. Out of the 208 sites available, 182 sites will be allotted through a lottery process. The land is available in various sizes, and MUDA has created a good ambiance in the layout by providing all the facilities including walking paths, parks, and good roads," he said.
To ensure transparency, MUDA will allot the sites through a lottery draw. The sites range from 1.33 cents to 8.24 cents, with the cost of each cent at 8,5000 lakhs. The sites will be allotted in different dimensions, including 6.00x9.00 meters (1.33 cents), 9.00x1200 meters (4.45 cents), 12.00x15.00 meters (4.34 cents), 12.00x18.00 meters (7.12 cents), 12x24 meters (7.33 cents), 6.00xabove meters (1.33 cents), and 12.00xabove meters (4.45 cents). MUDA will issue application forms from March 6 to April 6, and the last date to file the application is April 6. All applicants must deposit an early deposit (10 percent of the site amount) for the reservation site. The reservation is only applicable for 6.00x9.00 meters (1.33 cents) sites.
Reservation for various categories is as follows: 10% for backward classes, 3% for scheduled tribes, 15% for ex-servicemen, family members of martyrs, and soldiers in central armed forces, 50% for the general public, and 3% for physically disabled, 5% for achievers in various fields.
In addition, Mijar stated that MUDA would develop and distribute layouts in Chelyar village and Konaje village in the upcoming days. MUDA has also developed 30 lakes and 65 parks in the city.
Application forms will be available in 25 branches of the Bank of Board and MUDA, including in the outskirts of the city and various taluks.
MUDA commissioner Dr Bhaskar N was also present at the launch event.
