Shimoga: CM’s Daughter Embroiled in KHB Sites Scam

Daijiworld Media Network – Shimoga (SP)

Shimoga, Jun 20: The allegation that state Chief Minister (CM), B S Yeddyurappa’s daughter, B Y Arunadevi, is connected with a scam involving allotment of house sites in the district, has given rise to a sense of anxiety among the employees of Karnataka State Housing Board here. Arunadevi has been accused of getting house sites under the quota meant for journalists, sanctioned to people close to her, and then getting the sites transferred in her name.

Prima facie, it has been established that Shivashankar and Krishna, residents of Shikaripur, home constituency of the CM, and Sandesh Gowda, resident of Gopala Gowda Extension in the town, to whom sites were sanctioned under journalists quota, are not journalists. No one in the press circles is aware of these persons.

An advocate named Vinod, who has unearthed this scam, said that the above three are close confidants of Arunadevi, and are not journalists. He has accused KHB officials of sanctioning sites to these people illegally, under the influence of Arunadevi. He has demanded for handing over these sites back to KHB, failing which he has warned of approaching the local court of the Lokayukta for justice.

The KHB officials, whose action in allotting these sites will be under scanner, are worried. They have started accusing the politicians of bringing pressure on them and getting the work done, leaving them alone to face heat when irregularities come into the open.
