Bangalore: HC Upholds Compulsory Retirement of Mangalore University Professor

Bangalore, Jun 23: The state High Court (HC), through an order issued on Wednesday June 22, upheld the punishment of compulsory retirement with terminal benefits, awarded to former professor of Mangalore University, Prof Thippeswamy of the department of bio-sciences.

Thippeswamy, against whom two junior research fellows had registered complaints of sexual harassment, was placed under suspension. After the three-member inquiry committee formed to look into the matter found the complaints to be true, he was compulsorily retired from services with terminal benefits.

Thippeswamy had approached the single-judge bench of the HC against this punishment. The University had approached the division bench of the HC. The division bench, which vacated the stay, ordered formation of a committee to look into the allegations.

Judge of the HC, Anand Byrareddy, dismissed the appeal filed by Prof Thippeswamy for the second time, and upheld his compulsory retirement.

    All the judgement of HC are false.overruled by SC.even in all scam case,MLA disqualification case.one of our iceplant issue in MALPE judge favoured iceplant owner saying that so many plant in malpe so i request judge he should live near iceplant and then should give judgement.
