Puttur, Jun 24: Walter Rodrigues (48), a high school teacher, was found to have committed suicide on Wednesday June 22. He was working in the government high school in Konalu.

Walter, a native of Kallantadka, had been residing in Ichalampady since the last some years. Recently, he sold off his property at Ichlampady, and started staying in a rented house in Nerla village. While leaving his home on Wednesday morning, he had informed his family members that he was going to attend his duty.

As he went missing thereafter, the family and friends launched a frantic search. By late evening on Wednesday, his body was found hanging from the rod fitted across the well for facilitating drawing of water, at the property in Ichlampady he had sold earlier.

Rodrigues had also worked for St Joachim’s school in Kadaba, Kinnigoli school, and Bethany School in Noojibalthila in the past. He is survived by wife and a son.
