Puttur: Villager Jumps into Temple Tank, Ends Life

Puttur, Jun 24: The body of a senior citizen was found floating in the tank of the historically famous Lord Mahalingeshwara Temple in the town on Thursday June 23. It is guessed that the man would have jumped into the tank on Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Chandappa Poojary (70) a resident of Kulal Tadangala, Kolnad village in Bantwal taluk. It is learnt that he had left his home for Puttur on Wednesday.

He was suffering from joint pain since long. Therefore, it is surmised that he would decided to end his life, frustrated over his nagging joint pain.

On the basis of a complaint filed by Jayaprakash, son of Chandappa, a case was registered in the town police station here.
