Puttur, Jun 24: After a petty quarrel fuelled by some misunderstandings, a man bit off the index finger of his wife on Thursday June 23. The incident occurred at Hirebandady village in the taluk.
Girija and Balakrishna couple from Kasargod were on a visit to their relative’s home in Dasaramoole, Hirebandady on Thursday. The couple was treated to a feast of delicacies and drinks. Balakrishna, who got intoxicated, was engaged in a verbal friction with his wife for frivolous reasons. Unable to control his anger, he assaulted his wife, and bit her index finger so hard that it came off.
Girija was admitted to Puttur hospital for treatment immediately thereafter.
