Puttur: Double Blow – Family Loses Two Members on Same Day

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Jun 27: In a tragic incident that occurred at Bettampady village in the taluk on Saturday June 25, two members of a family left for heavenly abode on the same day.

Manigo (85), wife of the late Mudda Mera from Arantanadka in Bettampady, and Batya (58), son of the first wife of Mudda Mera, died on Saturday.

It is learnt that Batya got busy with preparations for conducting the funeral of his stepmother, who had breathed her last that day. However, before the funeral rituals were completed, he suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed, never to breathe again.

The poor family found it hard to make arrangements for conducting two funerals on a single day. While Bettampady gram panchayat extended monetary assistance of Rs 1,000, some local philanthropists also chipped in with contributions, to enable the family to go ahead with conducting two funerals.

I agree with Tony, M'lore/Sydney. Once has to face the facts of life, which is the only truth. Death is for sure to every human being or creature. But all matters within what time it comes to your door step.

Very sad indeed. May the deposed souls find eternal salvation. Reading this news article, reminded me of the two deaths that took place in my own family a way ago, in a matter of three days. First my older brother (55 then) passed away suddenly due to an heart attack, and on hearing this sad news, my dear father (74) had an stroke, and within the matter of next three days, he too passed away!

The lesson to take from these experiences is that the death is an inevitable and normal thing that can happen, either due to the old age or through an accidental event, but one has to be realistic and accept the fact, and should not take too much to heart, however, dear, loved and closed one the departed person may be. I know it is very hard to to be so though!
