Beltangady: Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra Observes 60th Anniversary of ChildFund India

Beltangady, Jul 13: Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra (CKSK), Ujire, here celebrated the 60th anniversary of ChildFund India at Sharada Mantap here recently.

The city lawyer and notary Pratapsimha Nayak inaugurated the programme. Pratapsimha in his inaugural address said that CKSK Vimukti is vibrant social work unit  which along with developmental work maintains love and peace in the society.


Further he said the humanity goes in search of divine, forgetting the very Godly people in their own land who contribute to the lovely and unfortunate humanity. He gratefully remembered all the ChildFund sponsors and called upon the kind- hearted people to support the Capuchins in their fight against child labour, malnutrition and other evils which hinder the growth of the little children by promoting the sponsorship program for the rural and marginalized children.

Vimukti co-rdinator Molly briefed on the objectives of the programme.  Vimukti education co-ordinator Matha Rai presented the elaborated report of the ChildFund Programs.

Ujire, CKSK – Vimukti director Capuchin Fr Vinod Mascarenhas  presided over the function.

Fr Vinod in his presidential speech thanked all the ChildFund India sponsors who have been contributing for the well-being of the most excluded, deprived and vulnerable children and women.  He also called upon the present dignitaries and those who have benefited to contribute and support the less fortunate and vulnerable children.

ZP vice president Dhanalaxmi, Dayalbagh Ashram vicar Fr Manoj Victor D’Souza, ChildFund mothers’ committee president Shoba and representatives of sponsored children Padmashree and Nelson Monis were present on the dais.

ChildFund sponsored children - Padmashree, Vinitha and Nelson Monis expressed gratitude for all the support, encouragement, motivation which they gained through the project and the sponsors. They also promised to help other children for their bright future.

Sheela, mother of a sponsored child expressed her gratitude for organizing various awareness programmes to live dignified life in the society.

The sponsored children who have excelled in SSLC examinations were felicitated on the  occasion.

The children were recognized and appreciated by the organization for the achievement that they made in various levels such as singing, debate, sports, drawing and music etc.

There were 750 sponsored children along with their parents, press reporters and local community members witnessed the function.

A brief PowerPoint presentation was visualized of the 12 years activities done by the CKSK through the support of ChildFund India.

The cultural programmes were held as part of entertainment after the stage programme.

Rachana and Manshia compered the programme.  Arathi welcomed the gathering.  Wilson proposed the vote of thanks.
