Bantwal: State Power Lifting Contest: Anand - Strong Man, Akshata – Strong Woman

Bantwal, Jul 18: The state senior 37th men’s and 29th women’s Power lifting competitions that was held for two-days in Panemangalore, here was concluded on Sunday July 17.

Anand N of Beereshwar Gymnasium, Davanagere was adjudged Karnataka Strong Man- 2011 while Akshata Poojarthi, student of Alvas College, Moodbidri was adjudged Karnataka Strong Woman title.

The men’s team of Mangalore-based Balanjaneya Gymnasium bagged first place, while Alva’s College, Moodbidri bagged the second place in championship trophy.

The women’s team of Alva’s College, Moodbidri bagged the first place, while SDM Sports Club, Ujire bagged the second place in championship trophy.

During the competitions held on Sunday July 17, Sachin Kumar bagged the first place in 93 kilograms category.  Raghavendramurti from Davanagere bagged the second place; Raghu Raikere from Davanagere bagged the third place.

Vijay Kanchan of Balanjaneya Gymn bagged the first place in 105 kilograms category, while Sujay J of Bangalore bagged second and Sridar B B of Alvas College bagged the third place.

Vinod Raj of Balanjaneya bagged the first place in 120 kilograms category, while Pratik Tej of Balanjaneya Gymnasium bagged the second place and R Vinay Kumar of Bangalore bagged the third place.

Kishore of KPTCL bagged the first place in 120 kilograms category, while Prasad Nayak of Bangalore bagged the second place and Vignesh Kamat of Balanjaneya Gymnasium bagged the third place.

Veena of Alva’s College bagged the first place in women’s 47 kilograms category, while Chaitra of Nitte College bagged the second place and Bhagya of Alvas College bagged the third place.
                 
Akshata of Alva’s College bagged the first place in 52 kilograms category, while Parvin bagged the second place.
Vinuta of Ujire bagged the first place in 57 kilograms category, while Geetha Shedthi of Alvas College bagged the second place and Yashoda bagged the third place.
Sumita of Alva’s College bagged the first place in 63 kilograms category, while Archana bagged the second place. 

Deepa of Alva’s College bagged first place in 73 kilograms category, while Abila of Ujire bagged the second place.
Deepa of Alva’s College bagged the first place in 72 kilograms category, while Jayasree bagged the second place.

Padma of Alva’s bagged the first place in 84 kilograms category, while Abila of Ujire bagged the second place and Deepa of Alva’s bagged the third place.  Neha H of Ujire bagged the first place in over 84 kilograms category, while Divasree of Alva’s bagged the second place and Sushmita bagged the third place.

MLA Ramanat Rai presided over the concluding ceremony held on Sunday July 17 evening. ZP president Shailaja Bhat, ZP member Santosh Kumar Rai, TP steering Committee president Madhav Mave, TP member Yashwant D, entrepreneur Janardhan Arkula, Gopalakrishna Melanta, Mahabala Shetty, Mullanja Shanmuka Subramanya temple managing trustee Venkatesh Bhat, Bantwal Land Development Bank vice president and Sanjeev Poojary were the chief guests present at the occasion.

Karnataka Power Lifting Association treasurer Umesh Gatti, Netaji Youth Club president Harish Bangera and office bearers were present at the dais.

The Association secretary Satish Kumar Kudroli and Netaji Youth Club member and runner up in 74 kilograms category Sacchindra was felicitated during the programme. Rajesh Kalladka compered the programme.
