Mangalore, Jul 24: District in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar rued that since the report on use of fund sanctioned for natural calamities last year is not been sent to the Government, there has been predicament in releasing the fund this year.

He was addressing a meting on ‘tackling of natural calamities and rain mess’ at DC’s office here on July 23.

Obtaining information from Zilla Panchayath engineers and PWD officers about the work taken up  to tackle natural calamities last year, he instructed the officers to submit the report to the DC as per the deadline.

He also collected the report about rain chaos and compensation distributed from all tahashildars of taluks who were present in the meeting.

Mangalore tahashildar Ravichandra Nayak said that 40 teams have been formed in taluk, in Netravathi and Gurupur river, workforce are on action on 24/7 basis. 12 houses completely damaged, 48 houses partially damaged in the taluk, 1 casualty reported and compensation has been distributed, he said.

2 died in Bantwal and were compensated Rs 2 lac, said Bantwal additional tahashildar Vijay and added Rs 11, 12,000 compensation distributed for the loss caused to agricultural land.

Sullia tahashildar Vydyanath said 1 life succumbed to rain chaos and compensation is already distributed, Belthangady tahashildar Pramila informed 1 life loss reported in the taluk, 17 houses were damaged and the distribution of compensation is already done.

Puttur tahashildar Dasegowda said 1 life loss reported in the taluk and 6 cattle died and compensation already distributed.

Mayor Praveen, MLA U T Khader, DC Dr Channappa Gowda, Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh were present in the meeting.
