Kasargod, Jul 22: Following landslide at Bettoli, deputy commissioner K Impashekar has banned inter-state traffic on Panathur-Kallepalli-Sullia stretch.

The ban is imposed as a precaution after the inspection by the district geologist at the spot as more landslides are likely to take place there. Further action is taken as per the report by Vellarikundu tahsildar.

President of the district disaster management authority and district collector K Impashekhar said that the road will be opened for traffic after cracked hills and the mud that causes accidents are cleared and set right. It has been raining heavily in this area.

Controlled traffic will be permitted during the day after clearing the mud and stones on the road. Policemen are stationed at the spot. The district collector has asked travellers and residents to be cautious.
