Bantwal: Gang assaults three having dinner at bar, complaint filed

Bantwal, Jul 24: A gang assaulted three people who were having their dinner at a bar at Vittal Kasaba village of the taluk. A case in this connection is filed at Vittal police station as per the complaint raised by Suresh, son of Vishwanatha, resident of Badakodi in Kepu village.

The accused are identified as Nishant Shetty, Rakesh and Chethu alias Chethan.

In his complaint, Ganesh said, “I had been to a bar at Vittal Kasaba village on the night of July 21 in order to have dinner with Suresh of Vittal. While having conversation in the bar, accused Nishant Shetty, on some old enmity abused me with profanity and assaulted me along with his friends. He also attacked my friends who tried to prevent him from assaulting me. Later when the bar personnel stopped him, he threatened me with life and escaped from the spot.

“I was injured in the incident and my friends took me to hospital in Puttur and later to Mangaluru for advanced treatment,” he stated.
