Bantwal, July 24: “Prime minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Manipur had assured that he will solve the disputes between communities. But he spoke for namesake only for 39 seconds about the recent tragic incident at Manipur. Therefore, Modi should consider that Manipur also is a part of the nation and teach a lesson to the government there,” said former minister B Ramanath Rai.

He was speaking while participating in the protests at B C Road held by Bantwal and Panemangalore block Congress condemning the incidents at Manipur and alleging failure of the Manipur government.

“The union government and the Manipur governments are directly responsible for the communal friction created in Manipur. But our prime minister does not even have the courtesy to express his reaction. There is relentless violence on women in Uttar Pradesh deprived of social justice. More than 150 people have died in the friction at Manipur. Thousands of people have lost their houses. It is unfortunate that the prime minister who says Beti Bachao, Beti Padavo has brought such disastrous days for girls,” he alleged.

KPCC former chief secretary Ashwini Kumar Rai, KPCC members Pius L Rodrigues, Chandraprakash Shetty Tumbe, M S Mohammed, district chief secretary Umanath Shetty, zilla panchayat former member B Padmashekar Jain, Bantwal block Congress president Baby Kunder.
