Beltangady, Jul 25: Hill collapsed and mud fell on Bidirutala Alekhan middle road of Chikkamagaluru section of Charmadi Ghat on Monday July 24. The traffic got disrupted due to the same reason.

A retainer wall work was in progress at the side where the hill collapsed further. The width of the road is reduced due to work. The mud fall further blocked the road. The NHAI officials of Chikkamagaluru district got the mud cleared and made way for traffic.

Night time journey on Charmadi Ghat is not advisable during monsoon as there is possibility of landslides in many places.

In the midst of this, some miscreants made a video of water flowing on one of the ghats in Maharashtra that occurred two years ago viral saying that it has occurred on Charmadi Ghat.
