Udupi, Aug 9: “It’s commendable that many social welfare and voluntary organizations in the coastal district are organizing ‘Aatidonji Koota’, in order to create awareness about the cultural hierarchy of Tulunadu.   Tulunadu culture is not limited to only Aatidonji Koota.  There are many celebrations in nature itself and there is a need to shed light on this,” said folklore scholar Bannanje Babu Amin.

He was the chief guest at the ‘Aatidonji Koota’ celebrations held at Narayana Guru auditorium, Haleyangady, on Sunday August 7.  It was held under the aegis of Billava Samaja Seva Sangh and Yuvavahini unit of Haleyangady.
 
Lecturer Jyoti Chelyar of Narayan Sanil Pre-University College, Haleyangady, inaugurated the event by planting rice saplings on the occasion.
 
Haleyangady Billava Samaj Seva Sangh president Ganesh G Bangera presided over the programme.
 
Local religious leader H Balakrishna Bhat, Bhatkal circle inspector Shivaprasad Nayak, and Mangalore Yuvavahini Centre Committee president Dr Sadanand Kundar were felicitated during the programme.
 
Haleyangady Yuvahini unit president Kiran Kumar Bollur were also present. Mohan Suvarna welcomed the gathering.  Himakar Kotian and Brajesh compeered the programme.
 
Various Tulunadu folk arts were staged as part of the cultural programme. Nearly 16 varieties of delicacies were shared with the people on the occasion.
