Bangalore: HC Takes Up Yeddyurappa’s Writ against Lokayukta Report

Bangalore, Aug 9: The division bench of the state High Court, which took up the writ petition filed by former Chief Minister of the state, B S Yeddyurappa, to quash the Lokayukta report, ordered the government as well as the Lokayukta, to present before it the U V Singh Report, which has been widely referred to in the Lokayukta report.

In his petition filed on July 27, Yeddyurappa has argued that the Lokayukta has recommended for permission to prosecute him in his report, on the basis of a report prepared by U V Singh, an official. He also said that he and his sons would have clarified things to the Lokayukta, if notices had been served on them. His counsel, Ravi B Naik, argued that the Lokayukta was asked to investigate illegal mining, but that that he had transgressed the jurisdiction in mentioning issues relating to land dealings and donations. He reasoned that the Lokayukta’s recommendation for prosecuting the former Chief Minister was backed by political conspiracy, and hence, demanded to set the report aside.

Justice K L Manjunath, who presided over the hearing, ordered for the production of U V Singh report, which has found repeated references in the final report of the Lokayukta, before adjourning hearing to August 22.

HC WILL SUPPORT YEDDY AS YEDDY HAS ALREADY TRANSFERED CRORES TO HC JUDGES. SO THESE JUDGES WILL PASS ORDERS IN SUPPORT OF YEDDY. EVEN IF YEDDY IS NOT IN POWER, HE WILL DO ANYTHING TO KEEP HIMSELF SAFE FROM GETTING ARRESTED. BUT YEDDY SHOULD NOT BE SPARED AND PUT BEHIND BARS. HE SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN EVEN BAIL.
