Mangalore: Youth Utsav 2011 Held at St Sebastian Church, Bendore

Mangalore, Aug 9: St Sebastian Church Bendore, under the leadership of Catholic Action League (CAL) and Youth and Cultural committee jointly organized a one day youth programme titled “Youth Utsav-2011"  for the youth of Bendore parish.

Fr Antony Serrao, in his inaugural speech highlighted the spiritual and physical development of a person. "Youngsters are our treasures and the pillars of our society as well as our church," he said. He emphasized the theme of youth year “Rooted in Christ and Confirmed in Faith“. He advised the youth saying that only if they are deeply rooted in Christ and have priorities in life, they can achieve everything.



Director of Indian Catholic Youth Movement of Mangalore Diocese Fr Anil Dsouz, addressing the youngsters, said that the youth are pearls of our society. He appealed the youth to make use of all the opportunities made available to them to leave a mark in the society where the future generation will see them as heroes.

Superior of St Agnes Convent Sr Mariakripa stressed on the need of relishing Christ in the personal life of every youth.

The resource person of the programme, enterpreneur Lesslie Rego, in his session motivated the youth to come out from the shells in order to make a difference in the society.

Advocate as well as well-known resource person Eugene D’Cunha explained with his experience the role of youngsters in the progress of
the society and nation building.

Floric Lobo conducted the value based games. Ppp vice presicent Ronald valde, ppp secretary Lavina John, Youth and Culture Convenor Simon Pinto, CAL president Joyal, CAL secretary Sony and assistant parish priest Fr Anil Dmello among others were present.

About 175 youngsters participated in the utsav.
