Bantwal: Gang assaults Kavalapadoor resident, case registered

Bantwal, Aug 28: A gang perpetrated an assault on B Mohammed Farook, a resident of the in Kavalapadoor village here.

Allegedly, Zareena and her elder sister entered Mohammed's residence, and vandalised it.

Subsequently, a group comprising Zareena's elder siblings Hanif, Dawood, Farook, and Majeed arrived at the scene in a car. They not only verbally abused Mohammed but also physically assaulted him, accompanied by threats on his life.

A case has been officially registered at the Bantwal rural police station in connection with this incident, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 143 (Unlawful Assembly), 147 (Rioting), 148 (Rioting, armed with a deadly weapon), 447 (Criminal Trespass), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 323 (Voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (Criminal intimidation), and 149 (Unlawful assembly with a common objective).

The authorities are actively investigating the matter to ensure justice is served in this grave case of assault and threat.
