Mangaluru: ‘Gadhya Khel – Ubranth Udkana’ held for Omzoor parishioners

Mangaluru, Aug 29: For the first time in the history of Holy Family Church, Omzoor ‘Gadhya Khel – Ubranth Udkana’ was organized for the parishioners on August 27 by ICYM in association with Catholic Sabha. ICYM animator Elroy Saldanha welcomed the gathering. ICYM president Ria D’Souza and Preetham D’Souza, president of Catholic Sabha symbolically welcomed the guests with shawls.

Fr Alwyn D’cunha, parish priest of Omzoor inaugurated the programme.

 



Gracing the dais were Christopher Saldanha, elderly person of the parish; Arther D’Souza, vice president of parish pastoral committee; Dafney Lewis, secretary of PPC; Nihaan Sequeira, ICYM president Bantwal deanery; Elroy Saldanha, ICYM animator and coordinator of all church commissions; Br Rajath Lobo, Preetham D’Souza, Catholic Sabha president; and Ria D’Souza ICYM president. The inaugural ceremony was compered by Jenisha Lewis, cultural and liturgical secretary, ICYM.

The event began with the treasure hunt. Games like reverse race, pipe race, couple games, tug of war and other 17 games were conducted for all the age categories. A special attraction was the monsoon food items which included patrade, kube mutli and patholyo.

All the parishioners actively took part in this event. The event was instrumental in bringing the parishioners together.

Fr Alwyn D’Cunha, parish priest, Br Rajath Lobo, Manoj Vas, co-sponsor of the event were present for the concluding ceremony. Prizes were given away to the winners during the concluding ceremony.

Tenisha Pinto proposed vote of thanks. Concluding programme was compered by Babitha D’Souza, secretary Catholic Sabha, Omzoor.
