Kundapura, Aug 31: The national festival celebration committee, taluk administration and taluk panchayat held the Kundapura taluk-level 169th birth anniversary of Brahmashree Narayana Guru at Taluk office auditorium on Thursday. The dignitaries offered floral tributes to Narayana Guru's portrait.

Kundapura MLA A Kiran Kumar Kodgi who inaugurated the programme said
that great social reformist Narayana Guru is a model for us and we should proceed on the path shown by him.

Taluk Billava Samaja Seva Sangha president Ashok Beejadi said that Narayana Guru created revolution by rooting out untouchability, superstition and exploitation from the society and worked for its progress.

Kundapura sub-division assistant commissioner Rashmi, tahsildar Shobhalakshmi, Secretary Ganesh Vittalvadi, Yuvaka Mandala president Yogish Kodi, Gunarathna, Sumana and others were present. Deputy tahsildar Vinay welcomed and compered the programme.
