HDK recovering, will be discharged from hospital on Friday, says wife Anita

Bengaluru, Aug 31: JD(S) leader and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, who was hospitalised on Wednesday after suffering a mild stroke, is recovering and has been shifted to the ward in Apollo Hospital in Bengaluu on Thursday, according to his wife and former MLA Anita Kumaraswamy.

Anita Kumaraswamy told reporters outside the hospital that her husband will be discharged from hospital on Friday.

Meanwhile, Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil has in a statement to the media said his father is recovering well and will be discharged from the hospital soon. Nikhil, however, said his father has been advised complete rest for a few days and will be ready to carry out his JD(S) party work soon.

"The JD(S) party workers, public and his well-wishers need not be unduly
worried about Kumaraswamy’s health. He will be returning home soon,’’ he said expressing his gratitude to the party leaders and various other leaders and pontiffs of religious maths who have inquired about his health.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah along with Agriculture Minister N
Cheluvarayaswamy called on Kumaraswamy at the hospital and inquired about his health.

Former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai telephonically inquired about Kumaraswamy’s health with his wife Anita. Dr C N Manjuanth, chief cardiologist of Jayadeva Hospital, also spoke to Bommai.
