Mangaluru: World Alzheimer’s Month launch programme held at Kadri Park

Mangaluru, Sep 1: Dr Raghuveer, former pro chancellor and president of PAGE - People's Association for Geriatric Empowerment welcomed the esteemed dignitaries and the gathering of elders and youth.

Dr Prabha Adhikari, vice president of PAGE gave insights and explained the activities for Alzheimer's month.

DCP Anshu Kumar, IPS, was thrilled by the caring program of elders and assured all assistance to elders and gave the police helpline number and assured police assistance in 10 minutes, in need of emergencies.

Dr Ravish Thunga, renowned psychiatrist shared his insights. Lions Club president Sheena Poojary addressed the gathering.

Jerardin D'Souza, founder, Mangalore Alzheimer's Association- MAA & secretary of PAGE appreciated all the selfless people involved in making the life of elders smoother. He also proposed the vote of thanks.

Mohanraj, treasurer of PAGE, emphasized the role of youth, and also coordinated the programme.

A large number of organizations, education institutions, hospitals, Lions Club, Rotary Club, universities joined together to celebrate the role of elders in society.

Two caregivers shared their experiences in taking care of their Alzheimer’s affected parents.

Dance queen Prathiksha Prabhu and team Upasana danced to lively and lovely numbers and had the whole gathering on their feet.
