Fifth Day's Novena held at Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica, Harihara

Harihara, Sep 3: The fourth day's Novena at Our Lady of Health, Minor Basilica, Harihara, Davanagere District, Diocese of Shimoga, began at 5:30 pm with the Rosary, Procession, and floral tributes to Harihara Matha. Then Basilica rector and parish priest Fr George K. A led the Novena.

At 6:30 pm, Fr Richard Britto, rector of St Peter's Pontifical Seminary, Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, offered Holy Eucharist. He preached his homily on the theme: “Mother Mary is an inspiration for Unity in the family”.



In his homily, he explained the unity of Joachim, Anna, and Mary, how they maintained their faith amid the difficulties they faced. He called on the faithful to respect elders in the family and take their examples as role models. He also emphasized the importance of family values, citing Mary as a role model for her sacrifice and commitment to God's call throughout her life.

Fr Venil D'Silva, Fr Alphonse Lobo, and Fr Alvin Stanislaus concelebrated the Holy Eucharist.

After the Mass, Fr George K A led the benediction, and the priests prayed over the pilgrims.

Then, on behalf of Minor Basilica, Fr George K A felicitated Fr Richard Britto as he celebrates the silver Jubilee of his priestly ordination this year.Day
