Mangalore, Aug 11: Both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts witnessed scant rainfall on Wednesday August 10. Only isolated places like Agumbe, Dharmasthala and Subrahmanya recorded good rain.
Sullia, Puttur, Beltangady, Bantwal, and Mangalore taluks experienced good sunshine during the day. Occasionally, clouds hovered around and resulted in some rains in between. The rain was also less in Udupi district.
Agumbe accounted for seven cms of rain, highest in the state. The coastal regions recorded a rainfall of between one and two cms.
The meteorological department has renewed its earlier warning that Karnataka coast will get heavy rains during the next two days. It has also warned the fishermen to exercise caution, because of the possibility of strong wind blowing over the sea.
