Mumbai: Krishna Janmastami celebrated at Pejawar math

Mumbai, Sep 8: Krishna Janmastami was celebrated at Pejawar math, Santacruz east on September 7.

Head of math Dr Ramadasa Upadhyaya Renjala inaugurated the celebrations. Competitions in Krishna costumes were held on Thursday evening. Sri Krishna chariot festival was held along with traditional
beating of drums and music by Dinesh Kotian, Rajesh Kotian and Ashok Devadiga. Priest Vishnutheertha Sali had decorated Srikrishna. Priest Suresh Bhat Kuntadi conducted the chariot festival.



Sri Durga Parameshwari Yakshagana mandali performed Krishna Kamsa Vadhe yakshagana play. Maha Pooje, Maha Mangalarati were conducted and Theertha Prasada was distributed to devotees at night.

Vidwan Prakash Acharya Ramakunja, Vidwan Srihari Bhat, Niranjan J Gogte were on the dais. Ramadas Upadhyaya felicitated Suresh Bhat Kuntadi and distributed prizes to children in Krishna costumes.

Poornaprajna Prathistana Mumbai trustees, office bearers, Pejawar math Mumbai priests Pavan Bhat Annigeri, Belle Ramachandra Samaga, Undaru Raghu Bhat and other priests, Shekar J Salian and devotees celebrated the festival.
