Mangalore: Konkani Natak Saba Holds Competitions at Don Bosco Hall

Mangalore, Aug 12: The Konkani Natak Sabha has been conducting competitions every year in writing, speech, singing, fancy dress, dance and Bible story based drama at the Don Bosco hall. This year, the competitions commenced on July 7.

The main sponsors of this year's competitions are MCC Bank of Mangalore.

The singing competition this year was inaugurated by Pingara kannada news paper editor and MCC Bank Director Raymond D’Cunha. The competition had two categories namely parishes in the city and those outside the city.

This year Katipalla parish came first, Nityadharnagar second and Mukka parish came third in the 'Parishes out of city' category among 82 participants.

In the 'city parishes' category, Bondel stood first, Angelore second, Valencia and Vamanjoor shared the third place among 123 participants.

Singing competition for the senior singers was held on August 7.

The Konkani Natak Sabha, Mangalore is a premier association for Konkani drama for the past 65 years.

Fancy dress competition will be held on August 25 at 3.30 pm, dance competition on September 4 and Bible story based drama competition will be held on September 18 at the same time.
